Fire, Friends, Thanksgiving, San Diego Zoo..

November has been a busy month I will try to give a quick summary of my last 3 weekends. Starting with Sunday November 16th. I was in one of my best friend Julie Smith's Wedding. We found out the day before the wedding that The church she booked the wedding at was on Fire or close to being on Fire. I don't know if you were all aware that 3 weeks ago we had crazy fires that began off Gypsum canyon (the exit for Julies wedding location) and in Brea and Yorba Linda. Not only was the site of the wedding on fire, but Julies reception was supposed to be at the Yorba linda Community Center which was now the evacuation site for fire victims!

Julie and her family called all the guests to let them know they would reschedule a reception due to the fires. Instead the bridal party and immediate family had a very small ceremony on the beach at Corona Del Mar, away from the nasty smoke in Orange County. That was the craziest wedding I have been in but also so beautiful. My first wedding on a beach . As the bridal party was getting ready for the day at Julie's parents house (in Brea), the fires were so close that we had to stop getting ready and pack up all of Julies Parents valuables and pictures. CRAZY.

Next Weekend I got to spend some quality time with two of my best friends. Lindsay and Karyss. While Brian was in Dallas with his brother for the niner/cowboy game. Carson had a blast playing with Lola, lindsay and Grant's dog. We all went to Karyss' ultra sound appt. and found out she is having a BOY!

For Thanksgiving I made my very first pumpkin pie from scratch which everyone enjoyed and it was a big hit. I even bought a costco pumpkin pie for backup if my home made one's went south, but we didnt' even open that. Brian and Carson and I went to Brian's sisters, in-laws house for Thanksgiving dinner in Oceanside. It was a lot of fun. Of course I had the kids make a turkey craft, It was a great meal and good quality time with family.

Since we were already down in Ocean Side Brian and I decided to take Carson to the San Diego Zoo..
WE had a BLAST there to say the least. It was so exciting and fun. I saw so many animals that I have never seen in person before, like a rhino, camels, a swimming turtle with a snake neck, Okapi, (which has zebra legs and brown body.), A panda, hogs, A hippo swimming in the water.. and so much more,

but the most exciting part of the day at the zoo took place at the swamp monkey exhibit when a man jumped into the exhibit (an 8ft drop) in attempts to save a baby swamp monkey from being drowned in the water fall by an otter (also in the exhibit) Brian and carson and I were right there when this crazy event went down just staring in disbelief that a man would actually jump into a monkey exhibit with wild swamp monkey's. The mom and dad monkey went crazy and started to hiss and charge the intruder, we started to fear that this man was going to get bit by a pissed off monkey! Three men had to pull this guy out of this exhibit while another man sprayed his water bottle at the monkey trying to get the monkey away from the man and prevent the monkey from biting or attacking this crazy guy!

It was so exciting, that definitely tops any zoo experience ever! I WISH so badly I would have had my camera out to video tape this spectacle. It would be uploaded to youtube for sure. I am going to you tube it in the next few days to see if any other onlookers who caught this event on tape have uploaded it to you tube.

I had such a great thanksgiving weekend. AFter a weekend full of quality time and lots of picture taking, My love tank is full :)

I am so blessed and my recomendation to see Fireproof

I just got back last night from Washington ( I had been there visiting since October 30th), I had a really great trip and got to see all my friends back home and spend a lot of time with my family. It is good to be home! I didn't realize how much Brian helps me with Carson until I didn't have Brian for a week. Man was I exhausted with out him! I am so lucky to have Brian in my life and for all the help he gives to me and for how hard he works to provide for me and Carson! I was not use to being a "single mom" on my own anymore. I realized I have taken his help for granted.

He had to work when my plane came in yesterday so my brother John picked me and carson up from the airport which worked out better because then I got my car back from him I let him borrow while I was gone.. When I got back to my condo with carson Brian had the whole place cleaned (he stayed there while me and Carson were in WA since his mom was remodeling/painting his room at his house). He DEEP cleaned the fridge and it looked emaculant! I never knew the shelves could look that clear! He also washed all my sheets on my bed since him and my brother had both stayed at the condo while I was gone. (which is a big deal considering you have to pay for laundry at my condo) He went grocery shopping and stocked the fridge and pantry with food for me and Carson. On top of all that, the table was set with a little fortune cookie on the plate with a note saying "I got you orange chicken and fried rice from pick up stix for dinner it is in the fridge. I will come by after my meeting around 8:30 to see you and carson. love you."
I am so lucky to have such a GOOD man in my life!! I felt so loved :)I didn't ask for any those things which made it extra special! He just was so thoughtful and kind.

Tonight Brian and I went to the movie Fireproof (since Carson was staying the night with Brian and his Brother was home to watch Carson) I knew little about this movie except that it was a Christian movie about saving your marriage and a "love dare". Although it has the cheeziness you can expect from a low budget movie, it was really good and I recommend any couple to go see it. Brian said, I could pick the movie so this is what I picked and i even made a point to take him out to this movie my treat so that he wouldn't be dissapointed, he really liked it. I think we both took a lot from this movie. If you dont want to spend the theatre ticket price to see this movie, and your relationship is not in a tough spot right now, then wait till it comes to video, but if not then I would go see it now.. you will like it.

I thought I would add a video clip to this post of my "superman" this is just one way Brian entertains me and carson when waiting for the dr to come into the room at the dr.s office..and his ability to make me crack up is just one of the reasons why I love him so much :)

halloween in Washington

The day Brian and Carson and I flew into Washington my Dad and Brother Luke picked us up from the airport and then we went and visited "Grandma" at work. When she got off we all went to the pumpkin patch
The pumpkin patch that we went to last year, we fed the chickens, Carson got to ride the tractor with grandpa, we watched the cows get fed, we fed the pigs, and sheep, and turkeys.

Carson picked out his pumpkin and Brian and I picked out ours.
Then we came home and carved our pumpkin, I wanted a happy pumpkin so that is what we carved and then of course we baked pumpkin seeds! I ate fresh pumpkin for the first time its not bad. I like it.
On actual Halloween, Carson got to trick or treat at Grandma's house over and over. Grandma and Grandpa don't have a very trick or treat friendly neighborhood so Carson got to trick or treat at MaaMa's I attached a video for you to see.

We all went to my dad's church that night for NITE LITE the Halloween Alternative event they have, with bounce houses, food, face painting and game rooms and lots of Candy. Papa loved taking Carson around and showing him off to the church!

Then afterward we went home to put our little dragon to bed and Brian and I changed into our costumes to go to Brittany's Halloween Party, Brian went as a Mexican and I went as Border Patrol

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium with mom and grandma

My mom and Carson and I got to go to the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium on Tuesday. It was a blast, Carson's favorite animal was the "elfant" he loved it. It was so fun to go the zoo this time because Carson could name all the animals. It was the perfect day because it was clear and not raining, and we were like the only ones there, also all the animals were out and it seemed as though each animal was putting on a show for us. The tiger, litterally went to the edge of the cliff in his exibit and growled. I started to look at the space between the canal that separated the tiger from the space we were able to see the tiger from and hoped to God the tiger couldn't jump that far! Carson was nervous to you can see it in his face. This is the coolest zoo because it is a zoo and aquarium in one and it has amazing views of the water front and mountains and has beautiful trees throughout the park.

Having so much fun in Washington

Brian and Carson and I flew to Washington October 30th, Brian had to go home on November 2nd to return to work. But he got to be up here for halloween and some, pumpkin patch, pumpkin carving, fall leaf fun! :)
